Process

Generating structure

Generating structure for a file is the easiest step in converting a file to an online document.

  1. Open the appropriate documents:

    Open the newest structure rule table by clicking on the following items, starting at the main menu bar:

    File -> New -> Convex/ -> struct.rule.table

  2. Save a copy of the structure rule table in your working directory.

    Since you will be working from your own copy of the structure rule table, feel free to add lines to the table so that the particular documents you are working on get the best possible wrapping.

    Document your additions to your copy of the structure rule table so that you can find and add them to the next version of the table. For more information, see "The structure rule table (SRT)" section.

  3. Select Structure -> Generate Structure from the menu bar in Builder.

  4. Select the name of your structure rule table from the resulting window.

  5. You will be prompted to name the output file in which the structured file will be placed.

    Name the file file.struct

    where

    file
    denotes the chapter number and the book of the file you are structuring. For example, the structured version of chapter 1 in the book Foo User's Guide could be named 01fooug.struct.
